Amicus has been engaged by one of the leading Retail/ FMCG organisations in the Irish and International marketplace to assist them recruit a Corporate Tax Manager.
By having a positive culture and investing in staff the company has low staff turnover and the role will be based in modern offices near the city centre. Working as part of the Global Tax function, the Tax Manager will support the International Tax Director for Europe and Asia will be a key contact person for the business in relation to international tax matters across Asia and Europe.
The Role:
- Management of all Irish and UK corporation tax compliance, tax audits and transfer pricing affairs with the assistance of external tax advisors, including advising on various Irish tax projects as required.
- Management of European and Asian IFRS quarterly tax reporting process, including review of the tax computations prepared by local tax personnel throughout EU and Asia and preparation of quarterly tax reporting for Ireland.
- Assisting on various international tax and advisory issues and projects, including entry to new markets, project financing, post-acquisition integration, reorganisations, legal entity rationalisation, etc.
- Collaborating with various business units, functional groups and external advisors to analyse business issues and execute strategies and planning.
- Assisting on changes in the way we support tax reporting and compliance using technological advances, to contribute to a more streamlined and efficient process.
- Supporting implementation of Pillar 2 reporting and compliance.
- Coordination of EU/Asian Country-by-Country Reporting and foreign affiliates reporting, with the support of local tax personnel in each jurisdiction.
- Supporting group treasury with annual cash repatriation process and other financing related queries.
- Researching, evaluating, communicating and advising on the implications of emerging tax issues and identify areas that could create or increase the tax risks. Participate in making representations to the various tax authorities when required.
- Building and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (i.e. Finance, Legal and Operations).
The Fit:
- Professional tax qualification (CTA/CTC)
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA)
- Minimum 3 years PQE – Big 4 and/or industry experience
- Strong skills in tax accounting – good knowledge of IFRS related to income tax
- Experience with tax technology development and transformation
- Strong skills with Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of topical international tax matters
- Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and translate complex tax matters to management and cross functional colleagues
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to demonstrate initiative, autonomy, accuracy, commitment and an analytical mindset
