Job Title: Data Privacy Solicitor

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Experience Level: 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients: Provide pragmatic advice to a range of clients on data privacy compliance, including GDPR, ePrivacy regulations, and Irish data protection legislation.
  • Drafting & Reviewing: Draft and review privacy notices, data processing agreements, data protection policies, internal procedures, and other legal documentation.
  • Incident Response: Assist with data breach investigations, notifications, and manage regulatory communication.
  • Data Subject Requests: Advise on and facilitate responses to data subject access requests (DSARs), rectification requests, and other individual rights requests.
  • Data Mapping & DPIAs: Conduct data mapping exercises and assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  • Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver internal and client-facing training sessions on data privacy matters.
  • Stay Current: Keep up-to-date on evolving data privacy laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor in Ireland with at least 2 years of PQE in data protection and privacy law.
  • In-depth knowledge of GDPR, Irish Data Protection legislation, and relevant case law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience advising technology, media, or e-commerce clients.
  • CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) or other relevant privacy certifications.
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging privacy issues (e.g., AI, international data transfers).
  • Experience in a mid-tier or international law firm.
