Our client, a great brand in the hotels space, have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to join their organisation at this time. Your role will entail providing support to the Financial Controller in the managing and operation of the Accounts Department.

 

Your Role

• Review the work of the junior team members

• Review Income Audit File prepared by Income Auditor

• Analyse cash and credit card reconciliations completed by the Income Auditor.

• Ensure debtors invoices are being issued on a timely basis and that the invoice detail matches supporting back up

• Regularly review the Debtors Ledger and Master Accounts to ensure tight controls on credit are being maintained and debts are being collected on a timely basis.

• Scrutinize costs and compare the hotel’s costs against its Peer Group to assess where savings can be made

• Management of Purchase Ordering System. Work closely with Chefs and other Heads Of Departments in ensuring the ordering and receipting process runs smoothly

• Payroll management: Monitoring of payroll costs + Daily review of actual hours being worked against forecasted hours. This will include identifying material variances and making the Financial Controller aware of these

• Training of junior members of the Accounts Team

• Assist the Financial Controller in preparing the Management Accounts

• Carrying out the Stock Take for Food & Beverage

• Conduct variance analysis on revenues and costs

• Ensure balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled each month.

• Ensuring controls and procedures are robust, sustainable, maintained and updated

• Monitor adjustments to both revenue and payments to ensure internal controls are being adhered to

• Refunds, Credit Cards and Chargebacks

• To assist the Financial Controller in preparing the weekly EBITDAR Forecast

• To assist the Financial Controller in the annual budgeting and interim forecasting processes

• To assist the Financial Controller in collating information for External and Internal Audits

 

Your Profile

You will ideally be a part qualified accountant with prior relevant experience
