Amicus are working closely with a multinational construction business as they grow their team due to a number of new projects they are working on now and several high-value tenders currently in the competitive bidding phase. This is a pivotal time for the organisation, offering a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader to join a business that is actively scaling its footprint across Dublin-wide projects.
The Role & Strategic Impact
Reporting directly to a Managing Director with over 20+ years of tenure in the business, this role offers a level of stability and local expertise rarely found in a multinational environment. You will be a key partner to the leadership team, enjoying the autonomy to shape the division's legacy while drawing on the MD’s extensive experience in the Irish market.
We are looking for a top-tier engineer who remains technically grounded. You should be as effective solving complex engineering challenges on-site as you are assisting the senior team in the competitive tender process to secure future work. This is a role for a leader who values visibility, split between high-level strategy and active site presence to ensure both current delivery and future growth.
The Role & Responsibilities
You will hold full commercial responsibility, leading the Civils team as well as a network of subcontractors to deliver on agreed project tasks in line with cost, time, qualitative, and quantitative measures.
- Project Leadership: Manage day-to-day project delivery, ensuring programs and associated plans are completed on time, including budget and quality targets.
- Tendering & Growth: Undertake cost analysis and become heavily involved in tender and contract documents. You will be a key figure in costing and budgetary control for both current works and upcoming bids.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise closely with relevant regulatory authorities and regional councils, ensuring strong working relationships are built and maintained across Dublin.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to and maintain strict compliance with all Health and Safety procedures. You are responsible for the safety of yourself and the team members/subcontractors reporting into you.
- Operational Standards: Manage relationships with all stakeholders and implement monitoring to ensure company standards are met. Conduct regular audits of staff performance and work quality.
- Risk Mitigation: Through a close relationship with the Commercial team, identify at the earliest opportunity risks to delivering the budget or supplier/overhead costs impacting the project.
- Investigation: Ensure accidents, incidents, near misses, and quality failures are investigated competently, with corrective action taken immediately.
The Suitable Candidate
We are seeking a proactive leader who balances technical mastery with sharp business instincts—someone who wants to be the reason the “big” contracts are won and delivered.
- Recognised Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience with strong stakeholder management and engagement expertise.
- Proven track record in Project Management, Time Management, and Cost Analysis.
- Analytical with a rigorous attention to detail and a “safety-first” leadership style.
Why Apply? This is the perfect role for a Senior Engineer or Manager who wants to move away from being “just another cog in the machine.” You will manage the current steady flow of Dublin projects while being the driving force behind winning the major works that will define the company’s next decade.
