Job Description

Our client is a dynamic and successful aviation leasing organisation. Based out of Dublin they have a requirement for an experienced tax professional with aviation leasing experience to join their team. The role will involve a mix of advisory and compliance. The successful candidate will fit into a tight knit team and play a key role on deals teams regarding finance & leasing transactions.

The Role:

Commercial Support

  • Supporting sales and legal teams on aircraft transactions; specifically considering jurisdictional analysis for SLB transactions and portfolio acquisitions. Seeking input from external tax advisors where required
  • Supporting the finance and treasury team on debt and equity related matters including PDP transactions, considering methods of minimising withholding tax on external funding, etc.
  • Considering the most tax efficient structures for aircraft acquisitions/sales
  • Assisting in the preparation of memos outlining tax considerations of all transactions

Tax Compliance

  • Manage the compliance process for the Irish entities within the group.
  • Manage the VAT compliance process including the provision of relevant information to service providers to prepare the tax returns
  • Manage the compliance process (including VAT filing obligations) for entities in overseas jurisdictions, including France, Norway, Kuwait, Japan, Hong Kong, US, UK, etc
  • Manage the JCT process in conjunction with service providers in Japan

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in accounting for taxes in the group’s consolidated financial statements and legal entity statutory accounts including income tax provision calculations, maintaining deferred tax asset/liability schedules and preparing valuation allowance assessments etc.
  • Liaising with external auditors on accounting for taxes issues
  • Provide support to finance team to facilitate the monthly reporting process

The Person:

  • Qualified Accountant or Tax Professional.
  • Ability to execute and deliver within a highly regulated and tight reporting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing international tax issues, preferably within the aircraft leasing sector.
  • A positive team approach, capable of working on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
