Risk Analyst – Life and Pensions

Team/Department Background/overview:

You will work with a dynamic risk management team from diverse backgrounds with experience in Change Management, Business, IT, Psychology, Operations and Actuarial Science to embed a risk culture programme throughout the organisation.

Role Summary:

* You will work with a highly motivated and collaborative team.

* You will benefit from working with external global management consultants to develop best in class risk management practices.

* You will be developing risk management frameworks to meet Central Bank of Ireland regulatory requirements.

* You will be part of a global risk management team that specialise in developing risk methodologies and provide subject matter expertise.

Role & Responsibilities:

Overall responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

* Support the risk management function to implement a risk culture programme throughout the organisation;

o Proactive engagement with management to embrace the risk culture programme and support them in understanding and managing risks,

o Assist with the delivery of training and communications to Risk Champions,

o Facilitate the review of existing Risk and Control Frameworks with management.

* Support the Risk Management Team in the implementation and maintenance of an effective enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, including:

o Ensure a robust risk and control framework is in place,

o Assist with the completion of risk assessment processes, ensuring regular follow-up and reporting on improvement actions,

o Undertaking regular challenge meetings with management and identifying opportunities for appropriate risk mitigations, and

o Identify opportunities for developing efficiencies and effectiveness with the ERM framework.

* Become a key player in the development of comprehensive operational risk taxonomy, including amalgamating various operations risks across the organisation.

* Drive the enhancement and delivery of Business Continuity Plans and organisation of training exercises.

* Manage the quarterly reporting of the Risk Policy and challenge the confirmations provided by management.

Technical Skills & Knowledge & Education:


* In depth experience in insurance, risk management, audit, compliance, finance or controlling

* Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Law, IT or similar

* Fluency in English, both spoken and written

* Comprehensive understanding of the prevailing regulatory environment; technical knowledge of, or experience in insurance regulation and legislation would be an advantage but not required

* Excellent diplomacy, inter-personal skills and communication skills

* Strong analytical, negotiation and influencing skills

* Highly motivated to deliver in a challenging and results focused environment.
