My Client is one of the leading Managed Services provider in the Irish Market and are accustomed to finding innovative solutions for their client base and due to continued success are looking to hire a Procurement Specialist/ Lead for the Irish business. They very much partner with their clients and tailor the solution to their needs. They support their clients on their end to end journey in the digital transformation and services include integrated systems; client computing devices and mainframe solutions.

The Role

In this role, you will be expected to Develop close working relationship with local Finance Managers and ensure Procurement Category initiatives are embedded into local business lines by working with Finance and other key functions as appropriate. ** It is imperative that you develop and maintain regular engagement with key stakeholders to succeed in this role. **

My Client has 100 people on-site in their offices in North Dublin; 2-minute drive from the M50 and have nice modern offices with a really good atmosphere and culture. You will report to 2 people- the Head of Procurement in the UK who has been with the Business for over 10 years and the Chief Finance Director in Ireland who has been there 17 years! Both are extremely personable and although different in approach both are very fair.

The Head of Procurement said the following about this role “Denis; Ireland is a very profitable business and it is crucial that this person is pro-active; can handle autonomy and is comfortable working well with others- that means being able to influence and push back when required. The successful candidate must have procurement experience; understand the limitations and what is required, and targets will be based around 3rd party spend, and you will have “Cost Saving targets.”

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement I.T category strategies to maximise Procurement principles and cost savings for Ireland Business
  • Collate & report spend across categories –
    • 3rd party forecast spends for current financial year
      • Define process for identifying Addressable Spend Elements
  • Individual I.T Category Management strategy/plan in place
  • Support Procurement strategy (competition, stakeholder preferences, alternatives)
  • Support the Ireland Business Line and bids as appropriate
  • Manage supplier contractual arrangements and promote tendering as required.
  • Support the development and implement of Procurement systems as appropriate
  • Undertake any other activities/initiatives/actions as deemed appropriate by Management

Key Requirements

  • The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate running end-to-end commercial Procurement projects within blue-chip organisations.
  • Has the confidence to influence at a senior level.
  • Networks and involves a range of contacts – both within the Irish business and the wider business and ideally worked on contracts with new suppliers.
  • Will be solely responsible for owning and achieving Ireland’s in-country procurement
  • Ability and maturity to work autonomously, proactively, use initiative and engage wider resource from the procurement category team as required.
