AMICUS Recruitment have an excellent opportunity for a National Account Manager to join a leading FMCG organisation. Due to continued growth, my client is looking for a driven; assured National Account Manager-to join their team. (For this role; you must have worked in the Grocery/ pharmacy sector -this is a key requirement)

Due to continued growth and a reshuffle on the team; this opportunity has come to market. KPI’s are based on revenue and market share- and the Bonus is attainable and realistic.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Deliver Sales, Margin & Investment Targets for the Channel across the Brand Portfolio. Manage individual customer profitability to agreed levels.
  • Closely monitor individual account performance and report any issues in a timely manner to the business. Constantly review and adapt the plan to ensure targets are hit.
  • Set clear and high standards of performance and ways of working. Ensure these standards are applied and met right across the team.
  • Lead, manage, support and develop the capability of the Sales support team.
  • Develop & manage the annual Promotional Calendar & Budget for each Brand in conjunction with the Commercial Director with focus on margin enhancing activity for the Group.
  • Accurately complete and submit all Promotional Proposals to relevant customer trading teams in a timely manner according to the agreed customer promotional plans. Update internal system with pricing changes by customer promotional cycle.
  • Secure listings for all NPD & Seasonal products in a timely manner with each customer. Align launch activity with individual Brand Marketing Strategy.
  • Accurately complete and submit any New Line Forms and Product Set Up data to relevant customer trading teams and internal depts. in a timely manner according to the agreed NPD, Relaunch & Seasonal plans.
  • Negotiate and manage agreed Pricing Strategy with each customer. Respond to internal and external queries as they arise. Ensure individual price files are maintained to minimize invoice discrepancies.
  • Produce accurate volume forecasts for promotional activity to deliver industry standard Service Levels.
  • Challenge Category Planograms for each account to ensure maximum & appropriate distribution for all lines in your portfolio.

Key Requirements

In this role, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who possesses the drive and capability to manage the Retail Channel on behalf of the Group and will play a key role in developing and maintaining the culture within the business overall.

You must be

  • financially and commercially savvy,
  • possess excellent interpersonal skills and
  • capable of building good working relationships with many different stakeholders often with very different goals and objectives.

In this role, you must a track record of delivering results with at least 5-6 years’ experience in a key account management position.
