Legal & Compliance Officer

My client are a leading international financial services entity currently seeking to hire a solicitor with funds knowledge to join their legal and compliance team.

Core Responsibilities

• Review and negotiation of contractual documentation; (Administration Agreements, FATCA agreements, Form PF reporting agreements, confidentiality agreements, letters, notices etc.)
• Assisting client services teams and senior management with collation of internal operational comments on fund documentation and contracts.
• Dealing with internal legal or compliance queries from operational departments;
• Ensure fund documentation is properly drafted, controlled, and completed as required;
• Involved in the day to day legal and regulatory matters across global jurisdictions;
• Provide legal advice and coordinate with external legal counsel to support all business functions and management;
• Prepare internal papers on new legislation which may impact the business;
• Review of external vendor agreements and contracts;
• Coordinating consistent assessment and updating of template agreements with external counsel as required and in response to legal and regulatory developments;
• Review and ensure compliance with applicable jurisdictional requirements;
• Assist with regulatory compliance queries.
• Any other ah-hoc duties, as required.

The successful candidate should have:

• Third level qualification (minimum 2.1 degree)
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in the Funds industry
• 2 years’ experience with fund documentation preparation, review and approval
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit
• Excellent negotiating skills and legal drafting skills
• Attention to detail essential
• Team work skills
• Customer orientated

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

• Performed in a similar role
• Previous funds experience with 2-5 years post qualification employment
• Direct experience in the fund industry
• Hold a certificate or diploma or equivalent in Legal Studies.
