My Client is one of the leading Retail/ FMCG organisations in the Irish and International marketplace and due to continued growth; an opportunity has arose for a Junior Buyer to join the team.

I know culture is mentioned a lot in today’s marketplace my Client have a positive culture and really invest in their staff so hence they have little staff turnover and a happy and vibrant work staff. Success in this role will focus on commercial- which is all about cost price; Retail price and margin and you will be given a thorough induction plan and your own PDP’s- Personal Development Plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Increases sales revenues by developing promotional concepts and overlay programs; develops category plans.
  • Establish and monitor gross margins by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products and determining placement and promotions.
  • Project and measure category sales and gross profit results by developing and maintaining records of item cost, retail and gross margin
  • Maintain external vendor relations by providing direction, guidance and information to Suppliers and Site Managers..
  • Recommend changes in products, service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Allocate program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analyses.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing Financial and Key Result Area target t to Company plan guidelines.


  • Bachelor’s degree / Masters in advertising, Marketing; business or related field preferred and would be advantageous if you have a Food Science/ Food Background.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Expertise in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise is key.
