In House Tax Specialist

Job Description

Our client is a leading player in financial services markets and is one of Ireland’s largest financial institutions. They currently seek to recruit a qualified tax professional to join their finance team. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with financial services tax experience to make the move out of practice.

The successful candidate will have day-to-day involvement in providing tax advice to key personnel within the group to assist in meeting the group’s strategic objectives. Due to the companies position as Irish market-leader and its important place in the global group, the role will allow for professional development in a wide range of domestic and international tax matters.

The Role:

• Providing support and tax technical advice to business divisions and management on a wide range of consultancy matters.
• Assisting in the preparation and review of various tax returns and tax computations.
• Preparing and reviewing tax provisions to meet the wider groups quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with business units/divisions.
• Keeping up to date with current tax legal/and regulatory requirements.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have a strong and relevant academic record. They will also possess the following skills and competencies:

• A professional accounting qualification and AITI qualified.
• The ability to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and as part of a team in a demanding environment whilst meeting tight deadlines.
• Highly motivated with the ability to use initiative & demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret new legislation/regulations and financial information.
• Have the ability to prioritise tasks while working within tight deadlines in a demanding environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written incorporating an ability to communicate technical concepts and the ability to interact positively with clients internally and externally.
• Strong end user computing skills in particular MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
