Financial Planning Analyst

A market leading Multinational currently has an opening for a financial planning analyst to join their finance department. This organisation has experienced double digit growth in recent years and is a major employer in the Irish market. They continue to expand rapidly and this position offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant to progress their skills and experience.

The Role:

  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly premium and expense forecasts
  • Preparation, analysis and delivery of financial forecasts and the annual plan to Group
  • Provide clear and concise results from data analysis to provide key insights on business performance
  • Assist in the monitoring of expenses, including variance analysis against plan
  • Contribute to the team’s role in driving and improving the quality of financial analysis provided to senior management
  • Assist in the preparation of financial presentations to senior management, Board of Directors and Group
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports to management
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the financial forecasting capabilities of the team
  • Maintain internal communication to facilitate an effective flow of information within the department
  • This role will require regular travel (twice quarterly) to France (Paris).

The Person:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other recognised qualification)
  • Part qualified accountants will be considered if possessing relevant work experience
  • Fluent French is a must
  • Ideally 2 years’+ pqe, experience in a financial services company or in Financial Services audit is desirable but not a pre-requisite
  • Previous experience in a financial planning & controlling role is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • SAP experience (desirable but not a pre-requisite) and strong reconciliation experience
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage relationships both internally and externally
