Compliance Officer | Life & Pensions

Excepetional experience building role working closely with a highly regarded head of Compliance in a new role based in South Dublin


  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Group Compliance policy and plan,
    providing advice and guidance to internal customers on European and National legislative requirements and compliance issues
  • Closely monitor legislative and regulatory activity and assess and advise on implications to the company
  • Supervise the investigation and resolution of serious complaint cases, allegations of
    malpractice/fraud, legal cases or compliance breaches through ensuring file preparation,
    background research and liaison with external agencies such as the Ombudsman and legal advisors
  • Ensure that all Regulatory and Ombudsman recommendations are implemented in a timely, effective and efficient manner
  • Co-ordinate inter-departmental meetings in relation to regulatory activity, ensuring
    free-flow of information and monitoring actions between meetings
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Regulatory bodies through the provision of supporting documentation and through actively responding to requests for information, including leading the process to generate regular information returns where necessary
  • Assess on an ongoing basis the Organisation’s compliance profile, identifying areas of
    exposure and suggesting interventions and solutions where necessary
  • Support and lead ad-hoc projects providing input on behalf of Group Compliance
  • Provide Group Secretarial support to the Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs as required
  • Provide active and ongoing support on the contractual and legal issues relating to new corporate
    developments, structures and agreements
  • Manage the legislative and protection aspects of the intellectual Property of the Group
  • Coach, motivate, monitor and develop the Team to ensure that the competencies required to carry out the work efficiently and effectively are attained

Person Specification

* Business/Legal/ Accounting Qualification with at least 3 years industry experience
* Professional Diploma in Compliance desirable
* Problem solving and analytical skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication ability
* Strong planning and organisation focus
* Initiative and energy
* PC skills
