Amicus Recruitment are looking to recruit a Category Manager for a challenging new position. Why this position? Why the role? In this role, you will be responsible for handling autonomy; ensuring deadlines are met; adapting principal category strategies and basically leading the function- you will have complete autonomy and you will play a vital role in the Business as you will be working closely with different departments in making commercial decisions.

KPi’s will be based on a number of different topics like distribution, new positioning, new layouts and one thing is for certain; you will be consistently challenged as it is a varied and diverse role and my client would regularly look at new brands to take on- this is a fantastic opportunity for a professional Category Manager with a FMCG background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, present and drive implementation of category strategies that drive category growth in line with Brand Strategies.
  • Drive involvement in retailer review processes throughout the year (category strategies; category performance, range reviews, planogram assessment and development)
  • Develop and present rationale on the performance of categories
  • Ensure effective and efficient implementation of in store display activities where appropriate.
  • Manage in store theatre/fixturisation, aligning targets with retailer objectives and parameters.
  • Ensure objectives for the year are met in line the objectives of the function.
  • Manage/work on relevant business projects as required.
  • Keep Sales Team briefed on training and best practice in relation to category management.
  • Work with Sales team to monitor and audit core range distribution.

Education: Business/Marketing Degree

Experience:

· Grocery Multiple Category Management Experience

· 3 yrs+ commercial FMCG experience Spaceman & data agency portal knowledge essential (Nielsen answers, Dunnhumby, and Kantar experience would be an advantage)

· Excellent written; communication and problem-solving skills

· Excellent numerical and analytical skills

· Excellent influencing skills with ability to influence at all levels internally and externally Good customer relationship management skills

· Good cross functional team working and networking skills

· Ability to drive and implement change within commercial team
