The Role

The role will be a pivotal support role to the Head of Category & Insight taking the lead on all projects but also through mentorship and coaching of two Category Analysts that are part of the category team but who support different business units.


** For this position; you must have at least 3-5 years experience in Category Manageement within the FMCG sector- This is a must ! so please only apply if you have the required experience within the FMCG sector **




Off Trade

  • Establish and maintain a strong relationship with Retail Partners in the development of category plansUtilize knowledge of customer and Category Management to facilitate the customer business planning process and lead that dialogue with the National Accounts team and Retailer
  • Develop our customer Category action plans that integrate with the customers overall business goals
  • Lead the range review process, driving collaboration between NAM, Brand and Category teams

On Trade

  • Development and updating of a Premium category
  • Engagement with key On Trade Customers and groups


Functional Expertise

  • Support the Head of Category through coaching and mentorship of other category team members
  • An unquestionable functional expert in Nielsen, Dunnhumby, and EYC data platforms
  • Full ownership of internal reporting suite and provide category updates to brand owners

· Turn data into insights and insight into succinct recommended actions

  • Provide category thought leadership and suggest new ways of approaching plans and execution
  • Always integrate the perspective of the consumer and shopper
  • Deliver NPD, pricing, portfolio mix and merchandising effectiveness analysis


  • Relationships
  • Support the Head of Category by building positive working relationships with data agencies
  • Leverage our relationship to get agencies to run deep analytical reports when needed


The ideal candidate will have

1. At least 3-5 years’ experience in a Category/Insight position within the Irish FMCG sector. ( THIS IS A MUST)

2. Strong knowledge of Nielsen Answers, Spaceman, Dunnhumby and EYC platforms

3. Strong Analytical ability to turn data into insight and insight into key recommendations to aid growth

4. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to tell a story through insight
