My Client are renowned for being market leaders – and have some amazing brands! several of which are Number 1 in their own sector! (not just in Ireland but in the global market) Due to a recent re-structure; they are now looking for a Brand Manager to join the team.

This is a GOLDEN opportunity to work for one of the top FMCG companies in the marketplace. Why? For several reasons- 1. The Manager- has been with the company for over 15 years and she is fantastic! ( It is a matenity cover contract but strong possibility that it will become permanment.)

In a nutshell; this is a varied and diverse role. You will be required to be comfortable with data; commercial ; work collaboratively with stakeholders and partner with Retailers. The Hiring Manager/ Director said the following ” Denis; I really want to find someone who is a logical thinker; can take ownership- there is flexibility in hours and I really want someone who can work well with other teams and be able to prioritise.”

In terms of KPI’s they will be based on 1. Brand Target – which incorporates internal sales and external share and 2. Landing Activations. – The KPI’s are fair; attainable and related to the Bonus.

Role Overview

The Brand Activation team is tasked with developing and deploying best in class local marketing activation plans grounded in consumer, shopper & customer insight to build sustainable growth and profit.

In conjunction with the Group Marketing Manager and the regional brand team, the Brand Activation Manager is responsible for the localisation and optimisation of regional Integrated Marketing Campaigns for best in class execution in market across the main brand

An integral part of the role is the proactive utilisation of data to generate key local insights and direct strategy.

Strategic Brand Planning

  • Lead the local business planning process for the main brands. Provide upfront input on local requirements and assess relevancy of regional initiatives for Irish market.
  • Ensure ongoing implementation of appropriate strategy for portfolio for the Irish Market via identification of local need gaps.
  • Effective portfolio management – ensuring clear prioritisation on key growth drivers and making choices around appropriate investment levels.
  • Set appropriate metrics & objectives and ensure that all activities meet revenue, profit and share expectations.
  • Development of optimum PR and influencer strategy to drive beauty agenda

Optimize New Product Development launches

  • Accurately size and assess NPD opportunity within Irish market.
  • Apply NPI 360 activation pack and enable channel specific presentation & implementation.
  • Devise pricing strategy based on consumer insight and competitive set.
  • Actively engage influencers to drive awareness and recommendations around beauty and Health and
  • Monitor and evaluate actual vs targets (across distribution, sales, profit, share) and suggest corrective actions where needed.

Key Requirements

  • Degree level educated or equivalent qualification
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,-
  • 2-3 years Marketing or indeed Sales/ Commercial experience within the FMCG sector with exposure to working with Retailers or the pharmacy channel
