Are you commercial; brand focused and looking for a new challenge or to build on your career; if so, I would be keen to have a chat with you! Due to continued growth, my client; a leading player in the Drinks market; is looking for a driven; assured  Brand Ambassador-( who has experience within the FMCG sector)-to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Brand Ambassador who has a passion for brands- to work in an organisation which encourages collaboration; offers career progression and you will obtain invaluable exposure to the brands and sector and there is a defined career path on offer – to gain more experience and to step in to an Account Manager or Brand Marketing role.

The Role

This role will report to a commercial; supportive Commercial Manager who has been with the company for over 7 years and leads by example. The Commercial Director is a fantastic manager; very personable and well thought off within the Business and the FMCG sector. For the role, you will work closely with the rest of the team. They have recently appointed a new CEO who has a proven track record ; working on some major competitor brands so it is an exciting time for the Business- with acquisition of new brands ; new people coming in including the above CEO !

  • This role will be 60-70% out on trade- making calls; pushing the brands; checking in with key Customers ; spotting opportunities and making sales whilst the remainder of the time will be either working from home/ in Head Office ( forecasting; pricing etc)

 

The challenges and key aspects

In this role, you will work with some of the leading Customers in the On- Trade Market so it is imperative that you can build excellent customer relationships; build strong commercial acumen and ability to prioritise is key to success. Attention to detail; having a strong understanding of customers and their needs and emotional awareness are important traits. ( You may think due to Covid why this role !!- but they are planning and want the best people in the Business.)- hence a new CEO coming in and new brands being acquired !

  • The Commercial Manager is looking for someone with the following : Attitude; Knowledge; Skill and good habits. Someone with ambition; drive will excel in the role and can develop a career for themselves ; working on iconic brands in a competitive sector.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build comprehensive brand plans for the Irish market.
  • Manage the critical contacts and relationships with Stakeholders and Customers in the On-Trade on a day-to-day basis; working on any activations; identifying opportunities and driving sales.
  • Manage and adhere to agreed marketing budgets, deliver agreed targets and customer/brand promotional activities
  • Develop journey plans for the role and make regular calls to key Customers.
  • Provide volume forecasts for your brands to demand planning on a monthly basis or as required and be responsible for pricing; promotional issues.
  • Monitor and post evaluate the effectiveness of promotional activities to inform future plans and improve return on investment
  • Manage NPD implementation; evaluate and develop new opportunities where possible

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness , critical thinking and problem solving skills, budget management (1-2 Years in the FMCG sector either as a Brand Ambassador/Account Executive is highly advantageous)
  • High energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player
  • Have proven track record of delivering on targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong MS Office experience essential – Excel, Powerpoint, Word
  • Preferably 3rd level degrees in business or marketing
