My client is the leading company in it’s field and it’s very easy for me to state how good they are to work for- but quite simply it’s the truth ! – it started off as a small family business 20 years ago but now they employ close to 30 people. Due to continued success; they are now looking to recruit an Account Manager to sell in to both the Hardware and Retail sector.

My Client have recruited very steadily over the years and testament to their success is that no one leaves the organisation- why? That is very much down to the owners who have provided a strong culture; an attractive commission structure for the sales team but as important as that ; is they are fair and genuine – and care about their employees.

The Role

This role will report to a fair ;personable Managing Director – who knows the Business inside out and retains a passion for people and the Business- I can categorically state that he will give you both the autonomy and support to succeed. In a nutshell , he is looking for a proven Account Manager to come in and sell in to the Hardware sector. The Hardware Sector will be more of a Business Development role whilst the Multiples/ Retail Sector is more an Account Manager position. As a result, it would be highly advantageous if you have the contacts and sold in to head office level ( so you are accustomed to selling in to Topline; United Hardware; Glanbia Agri; Connacht as well as the Independents)

As well as new products – sourced both locally and internationally- there is an attractive Remuneration package on offer – with a very attractive bonus scheme and you will be given the freedom to succeed and the Commercial Director said ” Denis I want this person to make the role their own and treat it like their own mini business within the company. The Van Sales; operations and Distribution guys are great to work with so you will be given the platform to succeed – its very much up to the successful candidate to create and plan and deliver.”

What the role entails

With a proven local knowledge of the Hardware sector/industry and advantgeous if you have exposure to the Retail sector, you will be responsible for identifying and developing growth opportunities with existing clients and also engage new customers to grow business and drive revenue.

Your key responsibilities will be:

· Maximising sales growth with an existing client portfolio

· Identify and secure new business opportunities within the region

· Ensure sales targets are achieved with profitability to budget

· Meeting with current and new customers at head office level

· Assist in sourcing new products to suit and work with assisting our current sales team with our current and new customers

· Client management and development

· Providing relevant information for Tender/Contract negotiations

· Effective call planning

· Quotations

· Assisting internal sales staff where required

You will need to demonstrate the following experience:

· A proven sales record; ideally within the Hardware Sector.

· The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients

· Able to work autonomously

· Ability to build on extensive client database

· Competent use of Microsoft Office suite
