assured Key Account/ Brand Manager-to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for a Key Account Manager/ Executive who has a passion for brands- to
work in an organisation which encourages collaboration; offers career progression and you will
obtain invaluable exposure and there is a defined career path on offer – to gain more experience
and to step in to a Senior NAM/ Brand role.
( Although this is a contract role ; there is a possibility that it will lead to something else/ another
position- I cannot guarantee it but they really look after their people. For example, within their
sector and as a sad result of Covid; there were several redundancies as a but my client has retained
all their staff and they have a genuine and caring approach to their employees)
The Role
This role will report to a commercial; supportive Business Manager who has been with the company
for over 10 years and has been promoted himself 3 times during that period. The Commercial
Manager is a great guy !he is very personable and well thought off within the Business and the
FMCG sector. For the role, you will work closely with the rest of the team. I was fortunate to place 2
people on the team and they really enjoy it and have been very complimentary about the
Commercial Manager and his approach: style and leadership qualities.
The challenges and key aspects
In this role, you will work with one of the leading Retailers in the market so it is imperative that you
can build excellent customer relationships; have strong commercial acumen and ability to prioritise
is key to success. Attention to detail; having a strong understanding of business planning and strong
Excel skills are crucial.

  • Build comprehensive brand plans for the Irish market, to reflect the strategy and priorities
    discussed with the Brand Partner
  • Implement annual brand plans including NPD through brand-driven activation, with National
    Account Managers and Sales Managers
  • Manage the critical contacts and relationships with Brand Partners on a day-to-day basis
  • Manage Principal review meetings and ensure we deliver a high standard of service and
    commitment, and meet relevant deadlines
  • Strictly manage and adhere to agreed marketing budgets, deliver agreed targets and
    customer/brand promotional activities
  • Manage brand commercials and pricing strategy with the Head of Commercial and Finance –
    customer/product pricing and net margin targets. Own Brand P&Ls
  • With the Head of Commercial, negotiate commercial agreements with Principals
  • Provide volume forecasts for your brands to demand planning on a monthly basis or as
    required; responsible for managing inventory levels (base rate sales + promotions etc.).
    Ensure no stock write-offs.
  • Monitor and post evaluate the effectiveness of promotional activities to inform future plans
    and improve return on investment
  • Manage NPD implementation; evaluate and develop new opportunities where possible
    Develop in-depth knowledge of relevant categories and competitive set; collate regular
    updates on competitor activity to feed into Principal reviews and reports
  • Work with sales management to ensure concise and clear communication of brand plans
    and in trade execution requirements
  • Identify new market trends and bring new products to market in line with strategy

Experience & Skills:

  • + 4 Years in marketing or retail account management
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness is vital; possess strong analytical, critical
    thinking and problem solving skills, budget management
  • High energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of the Irish grocery sector and major customers
  • Have proven track record of delivering targets / growth
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong MS Office experience essential – Excel, Powerpoint, Word
  • Preferably 3 rd level degrees in business or marketing
    Online sales experience
