It’s hard to pinpoint a highlight of today’s web summit but the experience itself was exceptional. Fast paced networking, information sharing, learning and socialising were the order of the day and the Amicus team spoke to some great start-ups and established brands alike.

New Relic (www.newrelic.com) had an interesting stand for those of us interested in web analytics. I found the interface of their platform to be a refreshing take on online data management and their personnel on the ground were engaging and informed.

Blueface (www.blueface) were well represented and highly polished discussing their communications suite (voip, mobile) etc. and the continued development of their product offering was clearly well received.

We though Ottera’s training interface technology (www.ottera.com) to be a highlight and CEO Glenn Goggin had a refreshing take on how their start-up can add substantial value to the health care sector amongst others.

Having missed some of the Oculus presentation we were delighted to be invited to Vyuu’s stand on Thursday to experience their immersive experiences platform. I am on a mission to justify the purchase of an Oculus headset and I’m hoping MD Guillaume de Sadeleer can give me some favourable arguments!

We enjoyed speaking with Gordon Games about gamification within various industries and James McElroy of HouseMyDog.com was thoroughly entertaining.

On the talking front – Consumerisation of IT, Future of online media and Web & Cloud optimisation were very informative and it was exciting to hear about the dropbox / Microsoft teamup coming soon to a cloud near you!
