Web Summit Recruitment Jobs

The Career Seekers Guide to the Web Summit

Whether you are established in your career and looking for a new challenge, or perhaps looking to get involved with an innovative start-up, Dublin’s Web Summit is an ideal opportunity to network for professionals with any background.

Looking through the list of speakers and engagements it was hard to highlight events that stood out from a recruitment perspective, but we’ve tried to outline three specific talks that we think are worth going to. There are specific career-oriented events during the summit, but outside of that here is what we came up with:

  1. Enterprise Stage Nov 4th

Starting off at 10:35am with Why Very Small Business Is The Next Big Thing: Steven Aldridge (GoDaddy) – if you’re considering a startup job but are not 100% sure, this may be just the talk that will convince you!

Whilst I’m interested to hear about The Consumerization of IT: Scott Johnston (Google Drive) at 2:20pm, I think the earlier talk at 11:35am on Web & Cloud Optimization: Jeremy Hitchcock (Dyn), Jonas Jacobi (Kaazing), John Cowan (6fusion) & Ron Miller (TechCrunch) has to win out. It’s likely to be very well attended by both business owners and developers alike and should allow for some fruitful networking.

  1. Marketing Stage Nov 5th

3:45pm Closing the innovation divide between startups and brands: Jeremy Basset (Unilever) Andrew Backs (Pilot44)

As the owner of a start-up, this is a talk that I am particularly interested in and I think the subject matter is likely to attract a lot of business owners.

  1. Builders Stage Nov 6th

At 11:30am Chris Wanstrath, the CEO of Github, takes to the stage and this is one I’m looking forward to attending. Github is an excellent tool for developers of all levels but it’s also an amazing recruitment tool when used properly and a great way to identify talent.

Amicus will be onsite at the Web Summit and blogging daily about what we found most interesting.
