Rugby World Cup 2015

Annual Leave Requirements for 2015 Rugby World Cup

Tickets for the 2015 Rugby World Cup will go on general sale this Friday 12th September and in advance of that we thought it would be helpful to let people know how many annual leave days they will need to set aside if they choose to travel to support Ireland.

The good news is that if you are happy to travel back the same day as the games then you can support Ireland throughout the entire tournament without taking any holidays.  It is worth noting however that some of these games finish late on a Sunday (around 7PM).

We have set out a chart below with all of Ireland’s fixtures and locations along with dates and days of the week. We have highlighted late afternoon Sunday games as likely to require a day’s annual leave.

We would strongly advise that if you are in permanent or long term contract employment that you let your employer know sooner rather than later as others may want the same time off.

If you wish to stay for the entire tournament you will require a total of 29 Days Leave (30 days –1 for Oct Bank Holiday).

Annual Leave for Pool games:

For the pool games alone – if you want to stay locally for the evening after the match you will need a total of 3 Days Annual leave.

If you wish to stay for all the pool games you will require 15 Days Annual Leave, (+ 1 if you stay over after the last game).
